If you choose one of the above three solutions, you should at least be a good "Soldier", because you did not take other extreme approaches, did not face to face with the manager, did not pick up the child.
If you choose the second method, it means you have your own ideas. If you don't want to be a good soldier, you will be the best one in this team.
