Fault symptom:
After the microphone or headset is connected through the microphone audio interface of the computer, voice calls or recordings cannot be performed.
Solution:
Troubleshoot the problem by using the following methods:
1. Check whether there is a mute switch or volume adjustment button on the base or cable of the external microphone or headset. Set the mute switch to off and adjust the volume adjustment knob to the maximum.
The following figure shows the line control switch of the headset. The microphone mute switch is enabled, and the microphone recording cannot be performed.
2. Check whether the external microphone or headset audio connector is correctly inserted into the corresponding microphone audio interface on the computer.
Split desktop:
The microphone and earphone (speaker) interfaces on the microphone box are generally two independent audio interfaces. Please connect the correct microphone audio connector according to the interface identifier.
Laptops and integrated desktop computers:
There is only one audio interface on mainstream Lenovo laptops and integrated desktop computers, that is, the two-in-one audio interface of the headset microphone, which generally has the following identifier:
If you are using a stand-alone headset, as shown in the following figure, be sure to insert the microphone connector into your computer's audio interface;
3. Make sure that the microphone audio connector is completely inserted with the microphone interface. If the connection is loose, the microphone cannot be used due to poor contact.
Note: Because the two-in-one audio connector (interface) pin design is divided into China's national standard (OMTP) and international standard (CTIA), different types of headsets and audio interfaces are not fully compatible, when the microphone cannot be used, consider replacing the headset or using a pin converter to connect.
