What should I do if I forget the root password of MySQL?

Solution:

1. Open CMD and run the Net start command to check whether the MySQL service is enabled. If yes, run the net stop MySQL command to disable MySQL.

2. Enter the bin directory under the MySQL installation directory, for example, E: \ Program Files \ mysql server 5.6 \ bin

Run:

Mysqld-NT -- skip-grant-tables

 

The purpose is to skip the permission check and start MySQL.

 

3. Open a new CMD and enter mysql-uroot. The password is not used to log on to MySQL.

4. Modify the MySQL Root Password:

 

Update mysql. User SET Password = PASSWORD ('your new password') where user = 'root ';

Flush privileges;

Quit

Now you can log on with the password you just set.
