When can apps communicate smoothly like webpages?

In our current environment, I regard the mobile operating system as the most basic app, and other third-party apps constitute the functional features of this system. This idea is inspired by Tim o'reilly's Internet Operating System Architecture, while on mobile terminals, the mobile operating system assumes the same role as the browser on the desktop.

When web applications become the feature of the Internet Operating System, the best thing is that these Web applications can collaborate with each other. For example, if I find what I want to buy on Etsy, I can use Paypal to settle the bill. Web applications can easily transfer user data back and forth.

This is not the case for mobile terminals. IOS is an app island. Although the underlying Android system also integrates data sharing between apps, it is still very elementary and the data format is very simple.

For example, I saw an Esty item sharing in my Facebook App. If I want to buy it, I click this link and will jump to the mobile page of Etsy, where I have to log on to the Etsy account, this is a very tedious process. What I want is to click this link and I can directly jump to the Etsy App. I logged on to the account in the App, so that I can buy it with one click.

For example, I heard a good melody in my SoundCloud Android app today, And I clicked the share button to send it to Tumblr, But I jumped to the Tumblr app to share it through links, what I want is to share the audio directly.

Maybe the handshaking protocols between these apps can be solved by third-party applications, so I sent an email to SoundCloud and Tumblr to mention it.

However, the better solution is that various mobile operating system vendors can make a good data/user handshake protocol between apps, so that third-party developers can directly use them, instead of adapting to the calls between these applications one by one.

We have two options: to make the App-centered mobile environment like a webpage, or to make a mobile webpage like an App. I hope both of them can be done. As a user, I can't wait to expect such a scenario to happen.

Last month, the iOS App Audiobus was released. It broke the App island to A certain extent and connected all music apps. You can use App A for recording and App B for sound effects, use the C Application for sound mixing.
