When happiness knocks on the door

This book is the original movie "when happiness knocks on the door", which can be listed as one of my favorite movies. Every time I put this movie on a movie channel, I would not hesitate to read it again. The two most impressive scenes in the movie are the subway restroom and the fragment when playing the cube.

 

Well, this is a book, so we won't talk about movies. To be honest, there are many differences between the content and movies in the book. For example, the subway restroom is actually a place where the father and son often spend the night, the church where the sleep stays is also their home for a long time, and the Cube does not seem to be mentioned in the book. There are no medical instruments sold in movies, but the author is a small doctor who has worked for a long time. The book's description of the author's childhood takes more space, including the hate for his stepfather, the love for his mother, the love for his son, and the tangle of his own father, the description of future life and racial discrimination is even more important.

 

Chris Garner, an African-American who lives in the slums from an early age, finds his mother has been in jail since she was sensible. And those who let their mothers stay in jail are just their dad. After that, dad was a real asshole. He was often amused by abuse and insults and suffered severe domestic violence against his mother. Apparently, in his childhood, his stepfather was a demon, while his mother was an angel. This kind and great mother told him the power of knowledge and made him fall in love with learning and reading. He has mentioned in his book more than once that he wants to kill his stepfather, but his ethics and his own morality have not led him to do so. That is why he desires true fatherly love, and therefore has extraordinary feelings for his children. He must never let his child lose his father's love. Even if he suffers, he must take the child to a free park on weekends. Even if he has no money, he hopes to let the child drink cola.

 

He is full of hope for his future life. He wants to change all of this through his own efforts. So he asked a stockbroker in a famous car two questions: "What do you do? "" How can I do this job? ". The successful person is actually very simple. After asking these two questions, he got the answer, and then did it. At work, a leader told him a word, which deeply touched me. "Wall Street did not rely on MBA development, but on PSD, that is, he was born from poverty (poor) smart people who are eager to change their fate ".

 

A person's success is easy to say, but what he has experienced is probably not a human suffering. During this period, staying in the church and the subway toilet became commonplace. One of the most impressive parts of the story is that a customer often joke with him on the phone about racial discrimination, but when they meet, it was discovered that the agent who helped him make a lot of money every day was a black man. Unfortunately, this paragraph is not shown in the movie.

 

I believe that the meeting with Mandela is the pride of all black people. Although I do not know much about man's deeds, I know that he is an important character of South Africa's independence and a representative of black people who win respect and freedom. Therefore, I have a deep understanding of the excitement of the author in the book, because the first half of my life has undoubtedly been spent in discrimination, and his experience has always been played in the United States.

 

A good book, a good movie, is different from the previousInspirationalThis is my favorite. I don't want to talk too much about the story in the book. I just want to share this story.
