Why can't tplink open the software upgrade package downloaded from the official website?

The software upgrade package downloaded from our official website is a compressed file, as shown in the following figure:

After downloading the upgrade package to your computer, you must decompress the package using the decompression software before proceeding with subsequent upgrade operations. Decompression method: Right-click the compressed file and click extract to the current file, as shown in the following figure:

Note:: If you do not have the decompression option after right-clicking the compressed package, it means that the computer has not installed the decompression software. We recommend that you download and install the decompression software first. Common decompression software includesWinRAR,WinZip.

After decompression, a new folder is generated in the current folder, and the corresponding software upgrade and guidance are provided in the folder, as shown in the figure below:

How do I upgrade a vro?

Log on to the vro management page and clickSystem Tools>Software upgrade, Please refer to the corresponding upgrade operations according to the types on the software upgrade page:

After the upgrade is completed and restarted, the Web interface is automatically refreshed and the router interface is returned, Running statusYou can check that the current software version is 140528, indicating that the upgrade has been successful.

If the Web interface cannot be automatically refreshed, we recommend that you check that the computer's network connection (local connection or wireless connection) is connected and try to log on to the router interface again.

Now, the vro software upgrade is complete. You can continue to use the vro to access the Internet.

Note:If the configuration file is lost after the upgrade, you must use the default management address (you can view it on the back of the router) to log on to the router interface. In System Tools> Back up and load configuration files, Click BrowseFind the backup configuration file and click Load the configuration file. If you have not backed up the configuration file before the upgrade, reset the vro and use it again.
