Why do I need to define the data type to store Chinese Characters in MySQL?

 
 set it to GBK. you can write my. INI to automatically set: in the Windows system installation directory (such as: C: \ WINDOWS \ My. INI) create "My. ini" file. Note that the suffix is "ini ". The content is as follows: [winmysqladmin] Server = C:/apps/MySQL/bin/mysqld-nt.exe [mysqld] basedir = C:/apps/MySQL datadir = C: /dev/MySQL DATA/datadefault-character-set = GBK [client] default-character-set = "server" on GBK points to the execution master of MySQL  program , "basedir" points to the MySQL installation directory, and "datadir" points to the MySQL data storage directory (because I changed it, I need to specify it ), 
 
 set "default-charseter-set = GBK" to support Chinese characters by default. Then, append "C: \ apps \ mysql \ bin" to the "path" variable of "environment variable.
