Why does java use char array to store passwords?
I have written several basic blogs recently, so they are quite popular.
Everyone who uses swing knows the getPassword () method of password field and returns char [] instead of String.

If PKI is used

FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream (name );
KeyStore ks = KeyStore. getInstance ("JKS ");
Ks. load (in, pass. toCharArray ());

No String.
String is immutable, which is beyond doubt, but String will be stored on jvm. If the jvm memory is read before GC, the data may be read.
If Char array is used, the memory can be overwritten immediately. Even if no GC occurs, attackers cannot obtain data.
