Q: Recently purchased a DVD-ROM, but, installed on the computer, the WINDOWS98 operating system can not find this DVD-ROM anyway. But I use a other brand of DVD-ROM but everything is normal, excuse me, what is the cause of this?

A: The problem should be due to compatibility issues with the motherboard chipset of the computer and the DVD drive. According to Intel's information, Intel VC8205 and some DVD drives are in conflict with each other. The specific solution is as follows: First, restart the computer, press the DEL key into the BIOS, the inside connected to the DVD-ROM IDE channel parameters from "AUTO" to "CD-ROM", and then press F10 key, save and exit settings, restart the operating system after the correct recognition of the DVD-ROM.
