Recently Win7 system more with the card, and no money to buy a Mac can only find a way to install the following Linux system, I heard that the Redhat server with more, want to try to install a redhat. Of course, like everyone else, search a lot of information. I choose to install dual system, because to discard window is not likely to compare hard disk has a lot of files, so installed a dual system, redhat as a development system.

OK, the following talk about the installation process, at the same time, memories and attach some read articles, personally feel, many times others articles, we can only learn from part, like the system this situation, encounter problems too much, online articles too little, many times is to own a way, and history in the development, Some articles have been a few years ago, only a partial reference.

To install a dual system, you first have to separate the pure free space for the Linux disk, and remember that it is pure.

I am a window7.

The first step is to separate the available space.

Refer to this link for specific steps, click the Open link

But do not link the process to do all over, the link is to call you sub-plate, and then merge that is the last thing did not do, you just have to allocate the free space, new volume do not do, remember that the compression is not new volume, I am not a good demo under Linux. Next time, fill up.

After a good space, it is necessary to prepare the system image installation, I use U disk installation, in fact, no U disk can also use the above sub-disk method to separate about 8G as the system image boot file. I use the U-disk, first to write the system to the U-disk.

Here, I started with the option to install redhat6.5, click the Open link

The above is supposed to be a good way, but we have success, considering some zero basis, I mention here, to use the U-disk installation system, need a boot image file to boot boot, there is a DVD image file to install the required package, that is, software those. For 6.5, you need to download the following two things, links inside there.

Rhel-server-6.5-i386-boot.iso image, this is the boot image, so you need to first extract this file into the U disk.

Rhel-server-6.5-i386-dvd.iso image, this is for the installation process of the package, so the above boot file after writing, only need to copy this into the U disk, and so you install later to let you choose to install the software, this is reflected in the use of this.

I use UltraISO, the above link has mentioned how to use, nothing but the upper left corner to open the corresponding image file, and then click on the menu bar to write to the hard disk, opened the writing interface, but did not mention to use the convenient Start button inside with syslinux start, you strictly follow this tutorial will not be wrong, click Open link

Attention My 6.5 boot was failed, not knowing and booting was related to UEFI boot, so I was forced to replace the redhat7.1, I did not solve the problem here, but I guess because my boot boot is uefi boot, so may not boot up, if you are also, then I think you should fumble the following without UEFI boot, this problem Brought to the 7.1, but now that you do not understand, so you just remember, start with the U-disk in the boot, press F2, each computer different, my Asus, press F2 into the boot interface, which is the operating system boot, we window default C drive, is the boot system, but we have to install the dual system, the boot boot sequence must be changed , each model is different, but datong small meaning, such as my U-disk is SanDisk, so there is an option is Uefi:san disk, such a name, it as the first Startup disk line, UEFI is I said above the way to start, it is estimated that this way can not boot redhat6.5. So I switched to 7.1.

The following redhat7.1 installation encountered the problem, this I was installed successfully, before the home of a computer installed 7.1, so this time is easy, but it seems that ASUS computer has encountered a problem, as if more than one.

Like redhat6.5, you need to download two files

Rhel-server-7.1-x86_64-boot.iso

Rhel-server-7.1-x86_64-dvd.iso

Write to 6.5 as above, write boot into the U disk with Ultralso, and then copy the DVD file into the U disk. However, ASUS computer boot into the installation program, card in the boot interface, if you encounter such a situation, give you my solution.

Paste in the reply to this sentence: after burning the U disk will be renamed Rehl ... , manually rename the USB flash drive to Rhel, then modify the Syslinux.cfg file in the USB drive (in the Isolinux folder) to find the label Linux segment under Append initrd=initrd.img ... Change to append initrd=initrd.img Inst.stage2=hd:label=rhel quiet

And this sentence: the new laptop is UEFI boot, you should modify efi/boot/grub.cfg, not isolinux/isolinux.cfg or isolinux/syslinux.cfg

All in all, you efi/boot/grub.cfg the U-disk, open it with text, find the append initrd=initrd.img inst.stage2=hd:label=RHEL under the LABEL Linux segment Quiet This sentence, is under the label Linux segment, then the red font portion remains the same as the name of your U-disk.

This time, you can successfully enter the installation phase of Linux, if you boot boot settings are correct, remember, each model of computer boot may be different boot interface, ASUS is F2. Boot always press F2, then go in groping.

Well, the Linux installation should be nothing, my own search installation fault, I mention here, is the sub-disk,/boot points 100 MB on the line, and then/swap partition and your memory twice times the same, and then left to the/directory. However, first of all, there will be four exclamation boxes in the installation interface, one to go in to select the ISO file, and then select the package you want to install. But if you are UEFI boot, then the sub-disk will not be successful, I have a good plate here after the encounter such a mistake:

For a UEFI installation, you must include the EFI System Partition on a gpt-formatted disk, mountd at/boot/efi.

There are two solutions, that is, your hard disk is not currently GPT format, so format it to GPT, but this I window data is not gone, backup also for a long time, this installation of dual system significance.

The second, when you boot the boot interface, there should be a non-uefi boot, anyway, my computer in the save changes there, there is a choice to choose the current all boot mode, I have the wit to find that there are two options:

Uefi:san disk

and SAN disk.

I think the first one should be UEFI, the second should be the normal way is SAN disk (this is the U-disk name, your own to find out, this nothing to say)

This down into the installation interface, and finally the sub-plate success, but also brought a problem, that is, the above is not the rhel-server-7.1-x386_64- Dvd.iso file copied to the U disk, is here to choose to install the system needed to support software, but now there is no option, what to do here, I think of a bold and proud approach.

We write to boot is not to boot, then I will take out the files on the DVD, especially packet this folder, the U disk inside some folders regardless of it, this is the boot file, And then put the Dvd.iso file this inside and the U disk does not have the file copied into the U disk, and then the rhel-server-7.1-x86_64-dvd.iso from the U disk, I am not big enough for you, anyway it is useless, but you'd better back up the following, after all, it is possible to repeat the installation. How to extract rhel-server-7.1-x86_64-dvd.iso files, a lot of ways, the simplest is to use ultralos this software, there is an extract to their own groping. This software is easy to use. In a word, rhel-7.1 ... Boot.iso the contents of this file is used to boot the U-disk, and Dvd.iso This file is all there, but the DVD can not guide the U disk, so put boot.iso inside some, and dvd.iso inside does not have to extract into the U disk, into a complete system installation U disk, and then restart can be successful installed, Redhat installation tutorial A lot, bar also has 7.0 installation tutorial.

After the installation, we entered the next stage, that is, the Linux interface, the above selection of software, the proposed GUI graphical interface, compared to user development or graphic interface is more convenient, but this time the problem comes, there are two problems, the first redhat need to register, Otherwise you won't be able to use Yum, and the second question is we window, and we don't start with Linux by default.

Solve the first problem first.

Yum problem, we do not register at all Redhat yum. So it's good to use the CentOS yum.

This link is what I see, but notice that the source of his example is out of date, including the files he wrote later, and the file to be changed.

In 3,721, the Redhat built-in Yum was removed first.

Console, input: Rpm-aq | grep Yum|xargs rpm-e--nodeps

There is no hint of success. then download yum.

Network Source Address: http://centos.ustc.edu.cn/centos/

This is the source address I used.

Next, enter the following steps, which are the steps to paste:

Yum Clean All

Yum Makecache

Yum Install vim*

OK if you see a successful download.

OK, then we'll solve the second problem.

This link uses two ways, click the Open link:

Attach the second method:

1. Download the installation package
