WIN8 system security mode and performance skills

Start Safe Mode

Safe mode is a very important part of Windows, and we often resolve problems in the system by entering safe mode or by removing stubborn files. But in Win8, many users find F8 no longer able to boot into safe mode, which is not to say that Microsoft has canceled security mode, we can access it in another way.

In Win8, press F8 to tune out this interface.

First we slide the mouse to the lower right corner of the screen and call up the charm bar, then select Search. Enter "Msconfig" in the search box so that we can search for the Msconfig.exe program and click it.

Then we can see the System Configuration window, and then select the Boot tab. Under the tab we tick "security boot" so that we can go straight to safe mode the next time we reboot the system.

Here we will also find the "smallest", "other shell" options, these are safe mode specific mode. Where "minimal" is a standard safe mode, "network" is a safe mode to allow network connectivity, while "other Shell" is a safe mode with a command prompt. In general, we choose the "minimum" or "network" mode.

One thing to note here is that if you want to reboot into normal Windows 8 after using Safe mode, you will need to perform the same steps in Safe mode and cancel the "Safe boot" in the system configuration, or you'll still enter Safe mode after the reboot.

System Performance Management

In the previous paragraph we said how to get into Win8 's Safe mode to troubleshoot the system, just to get the system running better. But we recommend that you be able to focus on the performance and health of the system in peacetime, as opposed to cleaning up later in the event of a failure.

First or slide the mouse to the bottom right corner of the screen charm bar, and then select Settings, and then select "Computer Information." At the bottom left of the system window, we can see the "Performance Information and tools" option.

This allows us to enter the performance management interface, where we can grade our system, but mainly on the hardware part. All we have to do is select the Advanced tool on the left.

Here we can see a lot of performance management tools, including "Open Performance Monitor", "Open Resource Monitor" and "adjust the appearance and performance of Windows" and so on.

Through the "Generate System Health Report" We can get a more complete and detailed picture of the current system, and can be based on it to address the existing problems in the system.

At the same time we recommend that the disk be properly sorted through Disk Defragmenter, and we can set the disk to be optimized automatically every day, week, or month in the change settings.
