In Windows 7, copying existing users to the default user template is not allowed, in addition, Microsoft strongly states that the only way to customize the Default User template is to explicitly indicate when sysprep is used.Microsoft-Windows-shell-Setup \ copyprofileParameters. If the official method cannot be used due to various reasons or factors, the following method is also an option. Based on different goals, the requirements for customizing default user templates are also diverse and require different technologies. The method here only provides a feasible idea, it is not only suitable for large-scale deployment (similar to the process required by Microsoft), but also provides administrator management flexibility.
In general, the default user template is mainly customized to the user registry and directory files in the default user. The custom taskbar fixed icon is an example of these two aspects.
First, the taskbar chart is saved in two places:
- Taskbar Directory: % appdata % \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Quick Launch \ User pinned \ taskbar directory
- Taskband key: In [HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ taskband] in Registry
The following two steps are required for customization:
- Production: In a model machine/user, customize all taskbar fixed charts and save the parameters/files in the preceding two locations.
- Release: copy to the default user template of the target machine.
Manual release method:
- First, you need to set the folder viewing behavior. In the control panel of Folder Options, select "show hidden files, folders, and drivers" in the "hidden files and folders" option, and cancel the "Hide protexted operating system files (recommended)" option.
- Use Windows Explorer to copy the taskbar directory of the template user to C: \ Users \ Default \ appdata \ roaming \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Quick Launch \ User pinned \ taskbar of the target machine.
- Use Regedit to set the default user of the target machine
