The name or Security ID (SID) of the specified domain is inconsistent with the trust information of the domain.
Have you ever encountered such a prompt?
In Windows, each computer should have a unique sid, Which is randomly generated during the installation process. However, if we use clone to copy the installed system, the SID is duplicated. This problem is particularly common when a large number of virtual machines are used.
This problem does not occur in the general environment, but it causes a problem in the domain environment. You will see a prompt similar to the above, and may not be added to the domain.
The solution is to try to modify the Windows Sid. There are two methods:
Method 1 use sysprep
Run sysprep.exe in win2k3, press the CD/support/tools/deploy.caband re-encapsulate and restart it in "select not to reset the activation grace period, after the instance is restarted, information such as Sid, network, computer name, and company name will be reset.
Method 2 Use newsid.exe
This is a tool for directly modifying Sid. It may also be used in other cases.
Microsoft has download official: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897418.aspx
There is also a Chinese version: newsid_cn
The last severe prompt is: do not try to modify the SID of the domain controller, which will cause a disaster! You may see an error message similar to "Security Account Manager initialization failed!
