Windows Installer automatically restores the Registry content

These days I encountered a very strange problem. After the software was installed, it was used normally, but after the restart, the user settings in the Registry were lost.

When I checked the registry, I found that the registry keys were all there, but the value content was gone. According to the Process Monitor ReportProgramDuring the Automatic startup process, the user settings in the Registry are reinitialized.

The solution is simple, that is, the Registry is not initialized during installation, but the key value is dynamically created during running. In this way, garbage will be left during uninstallation, but it is better than not running normally.

It is unclear why Windows Installer thinks that my program needs to be repaired.
