In Windows Sever R2, the installation of WSUS 3.0 is basically the same as for Windows 2003, but the IIS components are installed.

Rsop.msc---View Resultant Set of Policy
gpresult/v---View the collection of all policies
When the client tests WSUS in the browser is normal; Http://IP address/selfupdate/wuident.cab
Updates are more, it is not possible to audit each update, so it is generally set to Automatic Updates.
The Active Directory is not a required condition for WSUS, but if you are setting up Automatic Updates (gpedit.msc) under the local Group Policy for each machine in a workgroup environment, the primary settings are under the Computer Configuration-Administrative Templates-windows component-windows Update
---------------------------------------------
Configure Automatic Updates----------------------enabled
Specify the intranet Microsoft Update service location----------------------enabled (IP address or computer name)
Automatic update detection frequency----------------------enabled
Allow Automatic Updates to be installed immediately----------------------enabled
For computers with logged-on users, Automatic update installation does not perform restart----------------------enabled
---------------------------------------------
If you are deploying Group Policy from a domain controller under Active Directory, install it. What needs to be configured is the same as above.
