Windows XP's built-in firewall is really not very good. Two strange problems my friend has encountered are related to it.
Port 21 of FTP is enabled in firewall settings, but no port 21 is displayed in netstat-.
Dynamic domain name resolution also fails to resolve the specified IP address.

I have not installed a network firewall on my own server. I have used a few of them, such as zone alarm and Norton Firewall. But I feel that I have not found any other benefits except for occupying resources.
However, the virus firewall is still indispensable. It has been using Norton's enterprise client. The effect is good.
