Word 2007 Tip: Sort the data in a table

Sorting data is not a patent for Excel tables, and you can sort the numbers, text, and date data in a table in Word 2007, as described in the following steps:

Step 1th, open the Word 2007 document window and click any cell in the Word table where you want to sort the data. Switch to the Layout tab in the Table Tools Ribbon, and click the Sort button in the data group, as shown in the figure.

Step 2nd, open the Word 2007 Sort dialog box and select the header row Radio box in the list area. If the No header row Radio box is selected, the headings in the Word table also participate in sorting, as shown in the figure.

3rd step, in the Word 2007 main keywords area, click the Keyword dropdown button to select the key keyword for the sort by. Click the type Drop-down triangle button to select the stroke, number, date, or phonetic options in the Word 2007 Type list. If the data participating in the sort is text, you can select the stroke or phonetic options, or the date option if the data participating in the sort is the date type, or you can select the number option if you are just a number in the sort. Select the order type of the ascending or descending radio box to set the sort, as shown in the figure.

Step 4th, make the settings in Word 2007 minor keywords and third keywords, and click OK to sort the Word table data as shown in the figure.
