Wi-Fi network interconnection devices have been officially integrated into the development track. The Wireless World I face is no longer limited to the interconnected computers running Windows XP. I just installed a D-Link DCS-1000W streaming camera on an 802.11b network. In this way, as long as I have Internet access permissions and Internet Explorer, I can monitor real-time videos through cameras anytime, anywhere. At home, I can use any computer based on my own network system to monitor video and media streams from any room.

The above devices can be applied to WEP technology specifically for security and confidentiality development, and avoid exposing themselves to potential confidentiality risks, or enable themselves to act) the root cause of network system intervention has become an important part of your existing wireless home network. These advantages have prompted the device to be significantly ahead of common X10 cameras, video transmitters, and other home automation devices that use 2.4 GHz network bandwidth.

Camera hardware

The camera is equipped with two adjustable antennas dedicated for WiFi and a RJ-45 port for wired Ethernet. In addition, even if the device comes with a pocket tripod and mounting bracket, you can still choose any standard tripod as needed. After manually focusing the camera using the aggregation ring installed on the front end of the device, you will see top-level quality images and video media streams.

This camera not only supports traditional wired Ethernet, but also provides 802.11b wireless network, and randomly delivers a blank service device identifier (SSID) and a default static IP address pre-set to 192.168.0.20. In the initial state, password protection is not set on the management interface. I used a PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter, used a cross-connection cable to install the device unit, and set its IP address to 192.168.0.21 statically. because I have already run multiple wireless network systems, I need to incorporate the camera into one of the networks and adjust the camera's wireless settings based on the network characteristics. Please note that if you need to install a complete home security system, you can use multiple digital cameras on the same network.

I first plugged in an antenna for the camera, connected the AC power to the device, and then installed the driver software with the CD attached to the device. When all this work is done, you can use the Web browser interface to set and adjust the camera and specify its preference.

Provide security assurance for the camera and configure it

The first task is to set the management ID and password to prevent strangers from using the browser interface on the Internet for access calls to your camera. Although I prefer to specify a static address for the camera, the device can obtain the desired IP address from various sources. However, I do not recommend that you obtain the address required by DHCP provided by a host based on Windows XP when the Internet Connection Sharing feature is activated. These devices are more suitable for small or Home Office (SOHO) routers and wireless routers with advanced port forwarding functions. The internal IP address of the vro is specified as the default gateway address 192.168.1.1 (1 ).

Next, set the connection mode to the infrastructure, specify the network name (SSID) for the wireless access point, and then adjust the WEP settings. The camera supports up to 128-bit WEP in a hexadecimal or ASCII code environment.

(If you only have one computer and one 802.11b wireless Ethernet Adapter, the special mode also allows you to monitor related devices in another room. Specify a network name for the camera during installation and set it to a special mode, in Windows XP, the Wireless Zero-configuration service automatically displays the Network Name of the camera as a usable wireless network with a supported 802.11b Nic. I have provided more information about the technology of connecting 802.11b special wireless networks in the article on achieving special wireless connection methods .)

The ability to view video streams from a remote location on the Internet depends mainly on the ActiveX control, which needs to be downloaded separately and installed on the computer that implements monitoring. To implement the remote video monitoring function, I must install the above control on a server that can be accessed at any time and specify the relevant path in the input bar provided by the system. I finally chose to place the small OCX control on my own Web site and upload it to the network system using the FTP process. The FTP process mentioned here has been described in detail through a column entitled web/expert/bowman_02march18.mspx "> Publish a connection. It is a technical document about Web publishing through FTP. Note the backslash at the end of the directory path: because the system cannot automatically add it to the relevant path, you must specify it.

By default, cameras can run Web Servers Based on port 80th. If you have already run a Web server on the network system, you can specify an alternative port for the camera. As shown in figure 2, port 8,080th is set as the Web server running port. You also need to forward the correct router-based port to the preset IP address of the camera.

All image properties can be configured on the Web browser interface, including video resolution (up to 640x480 pixels VGA full screen mode) and the image/video stream quality that can be controlled through compression and Frame Rate Settings. In addition, brightness, contrast, color temperature, and even optical frequency can be adjusted. It provides a set of options that are most suitable for one-by-one monitoring of internal living rooms or quick viewing Based on broadband connections. Smaller image sizes, higher compression ratios, and lower frame rate settings can theoretically provide support for dial-up network connections with a bandwidth of no less than 56 K.
