A. Prohibit Windows XP from entering Safe mode disable Safe mode, restrict restricted users from modifying the registry

By modifying the registry, users are prevented from entering security mode with command line in Windows XP, preventing others from using the net user command to modify another user's password in safe mode, restricting access to restricted users and modifying the registry to prevent others from modifying registry startup security mode.

Log on to Windows XP with an administrator-level account, enter "regedit" in the Run window, open Registry Editor, and locate the Hkey_local_machinesystemcurrentcontrolsetcontrolsafeboot key value , will be under the safeboot "minimal" and "Network" item, renamed "Minimal1" and "Network1" or other with the original key value different name, after the modification completes, other people press the F8 key to enter any kind of safe mode when starting, the system will automatically restart.

In Registry Editor, select Hkey_local _machine, right-click, select Menu permissions, open the HKEY_ local_machine permissions window, select Users, and tick the read entry under Users ' permissions. This prevents normal users from modifying the registry to restore Safe mode to normal

Two. Find the Msdos.sys file to edit it. Find the C: "MSDOS." SYS, open it with your notebook, and add the following lines to the option section of the file:

"Bootmulti=0": Set the system can not be multiple boot; Bootgui=1 ": Direct access to win graphical user interface at startup

"Bootdelay=0": Setting at Startup "Staring windows ..." The information stays for 0 seconds: "BootKeys": Setting F4,f5,f6,f8 function fails during startup

Tip: Msdos.sys is a hidden, read-only file, and you can see it by selecting View/Folder Options/Options/Show All files in the Tools menu of the resource manager. When you modify a file, you can modify it by removing the read-only attribute from the file properties.

By doing so, pressing the "F8" key on the power-on will no longer have the Windows Startup menu.

How NT systems Disable F8:

In the boot, if the customer privately press F8 into the safe mode, then these software are basically in a dangerous state, so you need to play a F8 to prevent customers to the patch, or manually disable the F8 function keys. Here we introduce the manual method to disable F8:

First, let's start with the NT system's startup parameters:

/fastdetect parameters: Normal Startup Parameters!

/safeboot: Safe mode startup Parameters!

/noguiboot: Do not load VGA driver!

/basevideo: Start with standard VGA mode

/sos: Displays its name when the driver name is called and is better used when the driver fails to start.

Where are these parameters invoked in F8? If you look up files to find these words, NTLDR This file includes all the boot, this file is in the C-packing directory below, but also the system files, you must open the hidden system files to see!

You know, we can do this! Use a UL16 editor! Open the Ntldr file below the C disk and find: Safeboot and replace safeboot with: fastdetect!

In this case, although we selected the Safe mode to boot, but the parameters of the call is still fastdetect, so after the start, although the see is like a safe mode to start, but you will find after entering, or normal full load! Thus, the purpose of disabling F8 is achieved.
