During the summer, many people updated their computers, and the hardware platform updated their operating systems. As a result, XP was abandoned and moved to Vista. Now, data migration is a task that everyone must do. It doesn't matter. With the "Windows easy transfer" tool provided by Microsoft, data can be easily moved.

Rack (1). Use easy transfer cable. Users can purchase a cable labeled "Windows easy transfer" on the market. The cable can be connected to two computers through a USB interface for point-to-point transmission, which is the most convenient and fast transmission mode, it is also recommended by Microsoft. If you use an easy transfer cable on Windows 2000 or Windows XP, install the accompanying driver.

(2). Use a network connection for direct transmission. If the current two computers are in the same Lan, you can use this method for direct transmission.

Portable (3). Use CD, DVD, or other removable media. If the current two computers cannot be directly connected through a cable or network, or the system is completely installed on one computer, you can use this method to export data to the writable CD/DVD, USB flash memory, or external mobile hard drive, and then import the data.

Here we select "use CD, DVD, or other removable media" for Operation demonstration.

Step 4: Select "CD or DVD" to burn exported files and settings to a CD or DVD. If multiple CDs or DVDs are burned, we recommend that you label each disc for differentiation. You can also create a password for the exported data to ensure that the data is not illegally imported by others, ensuring data security. (Figure 4)

Step 5: select the data export range. Here, you can choose to export the files and settings of all user accounts in the current Windows XP system, or export only the files and settings of the current user. We recommend that you select the first option to export all data. Select "advanced options" to select the type of data to be exported in more detail. (Figure 5)

If the exported data contains the user account information, 8 is displayed during import. You can select an existing account on Windows Vista in the list, or enter a new account name to create a new account. Click "Next". The configuration information of the user account on the old computer will be imported to the new computer. (Figure 8)

Step 2: review the data and settings to be imported. If any omission is found, you need to export it again. After confirming that the information is correct, click transfer to start transfer. (Figure 9)

Step 3: review the data and settings to be imported. If any omission is found, you need to export it again. After confirming that the information is correct, click transfer to start transfer. After the transfer is completed, the transfer summary is displayed. (Figure 10)

Step 4: click "show all transmitted content" to view more detailed data transmission reports. Now, the data import is complete, and you can log on with the user account specified earlier. (Figure 11)

In the LAN environment, you can select "use easy transmission cable" or "Use Network Connection direct transmission" to complete data migration. After all, "Windows easy transfer" is a product of Microsoft. It is outstanding in terms of stability and compatibility. We hope it will become a powerful tool for data migration.
