Article Title: Zsh tips: File Association. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.
In the graphical file manager, we usually only need to click/double-click a file, and the file manager will call the corresponding program to open the file. In fact, such file associations can also be implemented in Zsh. The procedure is as follows:
Add the following content to your $ HOME/. zshrc file:
Autoload-U zsh-mime-setup
Zsh-mime-setup
Take an image file with a png extension as an example. If you want to view it through the pho program, you can define it in $ HOME/. zshrc as follows:
Alias-s png = pho
We implement file association in the form of alias, where png is the extension of the file to be associated, = pho on the right is the associated program. Here-s is essential.
To associate other types of files, follow the same procedure.
Source file is required for. zshrc to take effect.
Now, in Zsh, for example, to view the linuxtoy.png file, Zsh automatically calls pho to open the file by entering the file name (which can be automatically completed by pressing Tab) and pressing enter.
