On the morning of January 15 in Beijing, Facebook CEO mark Mark Zuckerberg delivered a speech in Colombia in Wednesday. In addition to announcing a free basic Internet Access Service in Colombia, he answered questions about the future of the Internet. One audience asked Zuckerberg what Facebook would look like in the next 10 years. And Mr Zuckerberg took the opportunity to describe the future of a wider range of social networks.

Zuckerberg mentioned 3 main trends:

1) There will be more people using the Internet.

2) We will send more messages to people through photos or text messages, rather than traditional web interfaces.

3) The future of computing technology lies in augmented reality: a simple means of communication that does not bring interference.

The top two points Zuckerberg is talking about aren't surprising. Cisco estimates that by 2018, only the number of Internet users in India will be doubled, with the number of people on the internet reaching 526 million.

The messaging market is growing fast, for example, the number of WHATSAPP messages sent by Facebook has surpassed text messages. In addition, Snapchat, which provides a "post-burn" messaging service, is also growing rapidly, with the service allegedly having 100 million users.

In the future of the Internet, the text may be less and fewer. For example, Apple Watch helps users get information through tactile vibrations, such as shaking the user's heart rate.

"The way people share, the moments they want to communicate and the tools they use to stay connected are diverse and growing," Zuckerberg said. "This will be the main competition for Facebook in the future," he said.

The real bold prediction, however, lies in augmented reality technology. "In the next 10-15 years, you can imagine a new platform that can be integrated into your life in a more natural and integrated way than a mobile phone," he adds. "he said.

Zuckerberg's complete statement reads: "I think it's easy to imagine that in the future we can have some wearable tools that look like normal glasses (so it doesn't look as weird as today's smart glasses). You will be able to know what is going on around the world and communicate with others without having to look down and interfere with your ongoing conversations. ”

Mr Zuckerberg says virtual reality maker Oculus will be an important part of future augmented reality technology. That's the main reason Facebook bought the company for $2 billion last year.
