A brief account of IBM's acquisition of platform

IBM announced last week that it was about to acquire platform computing company. During this interview with the vice president of IBM WebSphere Development and product portfolio management, Beth T.smith, I discussed with her the views of the company's acquisitions. Beth was happy to share with me the benefits of how to look at this acquisition from an SOA perspective.

First, Beth very much recognizes the advantages of platform computing in High-performance computing and distributed load balancing technology, and cloud computing. By acquiring continuous refinement of its own technology and product offerings, IBM has today presented the concept and vision of a next-generation SOA. Traditional SOA proposes to make it architecture loosely coupled, modular service output, and the next generation of SOA is from the technical architecture to the business level, that business applications can also be dispersed into loosely coupled, modular service output. The acquisition of platform computing, innovative WebSphere and BPM applications, advances the next generation of SOA, and even cloud computing, which is itself an application trend for changes in service delivery patterns, providing a cornerstone for further expansion.
