local time April 15 is the African Freedom Day, the reporter made a special visit to the Kenyan capital Nairobi several of the landmark buildings related to independence, visits to understand Africa's past, status and future.

April 15, 1958--the Conference of African Independent States opens in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The Conference adopted a declaration emphasizing the solidarity of the participating countries in defending their independence and supporting the independence and self-determination of the peoples of Africa. Thereafter, April 15 each year was designated the "African Freedom Day".

Since then, Africa has come into its own path. In the December 1963, the Kenyan people, after a long and independent struggle, finally won, declared independence and established a Kenyan own regime. It was the inauguration of the first Kenyan president, Kenyatta, who then met with many of the other African leaders of the same period. These precious images are now collected in Kenya's official news agency, Ken Tong.

In the 15 years since Kenyatta was in power, Kenya has become one of the most stable and prosperous countries in Africa, so Kenyatta enjoys a high status in the Kenyan people. To commemorate him, Kenyans deliberately built the Kenyatta sculpture at the International Convention Center, one of the landmark buildings in Nairobi, the capital, to honor the leader.

The independence of the country brought about the change of people's life directly. The 66-Year-old Leonard, who has been in the Kenyan broadcasting company since his country's independence, has long followed the president's story and is a well-known celebrity host. He told reporters about his own changes before and after independence.

Kenyan Broadcasting Company host Leonard Mbotera: I was a journalist in the colony during the colonial period, with a very low salary. After independence I joined the Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation, the "Voice of Kenya", where the salary was satisfactory, I could buy my own house, become a home and give my children a good education. I also bought my own farm in my hometown Mombasa, and I was very happy.

Indeed, Africa's independence has brought enormous changes to the lives of the local population. To commemorate independence, Kenyans built independent monuments and built independent gardens. Tens of thousands of people have paid their lives, and this has not been forgotten by future generations, and there are hundreds of African fighters lying quietly in the Warriors cemetery in downtown Nairobi to witness the development of Africa after independence.

Decades have passed, and Africa today twists and turns in development and turmoil, and after independence there are more important tasks for the locals.

Professor Richard of the political economics department at the University of Nairobi: The question now is how to transform Africa's independence into the true welfare of its people, and now we see that many African countries have been relatively difficult to develop since independence and progress has been unsatisfactory, in part because of the scarcity of economic resources and funds.

In addition, Dr. Richard believes that the current volatile political situation in Africa and the fragile politics system have a great negative impact on the future development of Africa, and how to maintain social stability after independence is an urgent problem for African countries.

Dr. Richard Richards, professor of political economics at the University of Nairobi: The People of Africa now need an effective government that can really defend their interests, and this Government should be committed to solving people's practical difficulties. Under effective governance, Africans can also have the ability to solve the problems of poverty, disease, food and clothing.

Xinhua News agency reporter Zhou Yu, reporters Tom, reported in Nairobi.
