Airbnb the first deal with the operator

Deutsche Telekom has recently announced that it has reached a deal with the Peer-to-peer share rental start-up Airbnb, which will have Airbnb app pre-installed in the former's Android contract, which involves Deutsche Telekom's 13-nation market in Europe. This is Airbnb's first deal with the operator, which is expected to take place in the spring.

The 13 countries were Albania, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Users will be able to get 30 euros worth of accommodation if they register Airbnb via Deutsche Telekom.

Mobile operators hold a large number of users and are an attractive channel for app developers who want to expand their user base. Airbnb's regional manager, Christopher Cederskog, said in a statement that cooperation with Deutsche Telekom could help Airbnb focus more on mobile devices and reach more new users across Europe. For Deutsche Telekom, the move is part of its strategic partnership with renowned technology companies. Of course, Airbnb is not the first company to look at operators, such as Spotify, Evernote, Pinterest, and Twitter, which are already pre-installed with different operators. For operators and application providers, this kind of cooperation is a double win.
