Cloud computing is a new way of sharing data infrastructure in recent years, it can connect a large scale of program pool and data pool together to provide various IT application services. Using cloud computing technology, the future intelligent Transportation System integrates many heterogeneous and distributed data sources, on the other hand, it is composed of multiple server clusters, which provides the basic framework for the storage, transmission, processing and integration of massive data. This paper introduces the principles, characteristics and applications of cloud computing, and on this basis, analyzes the application of cloud computing in the future intelligent transportation system.
