China decides to extend double anti-investigation deadline for U.S. large-footprint vehicles

Extension of the investigation period for anti-dumping and countervailing investigations of imported cars and SUVs originating in the United States of 2.0 litres and more than 2.0 litres respectively.　　The Chinese Ministry of Commerce issued a notice yesterday that it decided to extend the investigation deadline for the anti-dumping and countervailing investigations of imported cars and off-road vehicles originating in the United States at 2.0 litres and above 2.0 litres respectively.　　The Ministry of Commerce issued notices 83rd and 84th on November 6, 2009, and decided to investigate anti-dumping and countervailing duties against imported cars and SUVs originating in the United States at 2.0 litres and over 2.0 litres respectively. The Ministry of Commerce said yesterday that, in view of the special and complex circumstances of the two cases, the Ministry of Commerce had decided to extend the investigation period of two cases to 6 months respectively under the provisions of article 26th of the PRC anti-dumping regulations and regulation 27th of the PRC Anti-subsidy ordinance. The deadline for investigation of two cases is May 6, 2011.
