China, Russia to build third international terrestrial cable

October 13 Afternoon news, China Telecom and Russian telecom operators Synterra Company signed a memorandum of cooperation today, the two sides intend to jointly build the third international terrestrial optical cable between Russia and China.　　China Telecom Group general manager Wang and the Russian telecom operator Synterra company president Vitaly Slizen was held in Beijing at the fourth session of the Sino-Russian Economic and Commercial Summit forum signing ceremony, jointly signed China-Russia international Land cable construction cooperation memorandum.　　According to the memo, the two sides plan to build a new trans-border optical cable transmission system in the Bragovisensk of Heihe and Russia in China to meet the growth demand of bilateral business, and to seize the favorable opportunity for the rapid development of the Asia-Europe transfer market and enhance the European direction transmission capacity.　　Sino-Russian international cable, which is to be built with Synterra, is the third Cross-border optical cable between China Telecom and Russian operators, and China Telecom has built Cross-border optical cables with Russian telecom and Russian railcom respectively. After the signing of the MOU, the two sides will study and formulate the implementation plan, pending approval of relevant government departments, as soon as possible to start cable construction.
