Cisco New cloud Computing Framework Cloudverse to achieve "three cloud" collaboration

Cisco has unveiled new products and packaging options this week for customers seeking to implement public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud computing. Cisco's new Cloudverse framework is designed to enable organizations to establish, manage, and connect public, private, and mixed clouds. It includes existing Cisco products, such as unified computing systems servers, Nexus switches and network management applications, and software for collaboration, improved management and enhanced connectivity, and services to help customers design and deploy their environments. By 2014, more than 50% of the computing effort in the data center would be based on clouds, according to Cisco. In addition, global cloud traffic will grow by 20 times times by 2015 to 1.6ZB (byte), equivalent to 4 days of business-level video for everyone on the planet. Cisco says this expected growth creates a need for data centers to be more tightly integrated with the network to support End-to-end cloud applications and to provide services in dynamic and opt-in patterns. Analysts say Cloudverse will face stiff competition from Alcatel-Lucent CloudBand and other cloud it vendors. These vendors are expected to soon announce their full cloud implementation offerings. Dana Cooperson, an analyst at market research firm Ovum, said Cloudverse and Alcatel-Lucent's most recent CloudBand strategy was the most comprehensive and focused cloud implementation service provider-oriented product. Both products contain typical it elements for any cloud application. However, the new part of Alcatel-Lucent and Cisco emphasizes the integration of the definable data center segment with the network/communications component. Alcatel-Lucent works with HP in it. Others view Cloudverse as a way to overcome barriers to cloud application. However, this approach only works when the customer applies the only Cisco solution. Adding these products to the cloud is designed to make these services cheaper and easier to use for those organizations that apply the cloud. Cisco will use the new cloud implementation services to support Cloudverse. These services combine Cisco's professional services with its partners ' services to help organizations design, deploy, and optimize cloud computing for their business. Cisco says the early components of cloudverse have been used by more than 70% cloud providers. These cloud providers include ACS, Xerox, Fujitsu, Orange Business Services, Silicon Valley Bank, Italia Telecom, Telefónica, Telstra and Verizon Terremark. Cisco says Cloudverse will be fully available in 2012. Cisco also plans to extend its Securex security architecture to Cloudverse. Securex includes the use of tagging techniques in Cisco firewalls to identify a wide range of information about user network applications, such as applications, devices, locations, and time of day.
