Guide: In the next few years, cloud computing will change the way CIOs work. There will be more and more enterprises into the embrace of cloud computing, and software, such as services (SaaS) and other technologies will gradually mature. The fast-on-demand delivery capability and the potential cost-saving capability brought by the cloud computing model are the advantages that the enterprise is worth ahead of time. The individual departments within the enterprise purchase their own dedicated IT equipment, which forces the enterprise CIO to advance to the cloud computing platform. But this shift will be a permanent change for the CIO's traditional role.

In the next few years, cloud computing will change the way CIOs work.

But at the same time, companies need to continue to pay attention to information security issues, compliance issues and performance and business model issues, which will lead to a different decision of the CIO: Is it waiting for the problem to be resolved, or to look at it while walking?

Departments are relatively independent

In fact, for CIOs, waiting should not be a choice. At present, many enterprises have emerged a trend, that is, some departments within the enterprise, due to cloud technology in the speed and cost advantage lure, hope to bypass IT department, directly with the delivery of suppliers to sign agreements, access to the department needs personalized services.

This trend will add to the vulnerability of the enterprise IT environment and introduce more risk vulnerabilities that CIOs have been trying to avoid. And if you continue to wait, companies will face the risk of increasing demand and slowing the responsiveness of IT systems.

As cloud platform deployments increase, strategies for different areas are beginning to emerge. For example, in a highly regulated market, such as financial services, a more cautious approach is adopted. At this time, cloud computing generally uses SaaS architecture, while companies build a private cloud environment based on PAAs and IaaS internally.

Smaller businesses, however, can safely use off-the-shelf cloud services to achieve faster, lower-cost computing power, and to leverage IT systems that previously had only a larger competitor.

Skills and Job Responsibilities

Today's CIOs should immediately start implementing cloud projects, learn the appropriate skills and build business models that integrate with cloud technology within the enterprise. By implementing the Cloud project, the traditional responsibilities of the CIO have also changed, both at the point of focus and in terms of skill requirements. As an IT leader, there will be more and more experience with the following trends:

· The cloud business strategy CIO will be increasingly connected to the business by developing cloud strategies to address a range of issues such as business models, business opportunities, risk appetite, and compliance requirements. This will give CIOs the ability to manage and monitor cloud applications, while preventing departments from buying devices or services privately, affecting the overall IT environment of the enterprise or causing interoperability problems for other business-critical services.

· Cloud service providers depending on the business and business areas of the enterprise, some CIOs will first adopt the internal private cloud to provide cloud services to users within the enterprise. In this case, information sharing and collection among business partners will change.

However, this approach will make it commercially available from the business community, so CIOs will also increase the management of service and mode costs accordingly. Developing a private cloud environment allows CIOs to first have the skills and experience to migrate to the public cloud while understanding the vendor market.

· The cloud vendor Manager CIO Reviews tendering activities from an IT perspective, making them more appropriate to participate in commercial sourcing. As more and more commercialized IT services migrate to the public cloud, CIOs will be responsible for coordinating business and vendor responsibilities, as well as dealing with business and service level requirements, and establishing a supervisory management layer.

Companies will think of CIOs as representatives of cloud services. To ensure it contracts and lifecycle management, it leaders need to have an in-depth understanding of the vendor market, security measures, compliance requirements that businesses must comply with, and various other related business issues.

As cloud technology matures and more and more internal it architectures migrate to the public cloud, the CIO's scope of responsibility is changing, a career threat for the traditional CIO. While cloud technology makes it faster to commercialize, it is also a good opportunity for CIOs to position themselves as innovators.

Through the change of the new technology to the enterprise, it leaders themselves in the enterprise positioning will change. It is moving away from what it traditionally deems the center of capital investment as a way to create business value.
