Beijing time April 28 Morning News, cloud storage provider Dropbox Friday launched the latest digital image automatic upload function, and free cloud storage space from 2GB to 5GB to counter rival Google's Google Drive services.
Dropbox This free storage space is part of its new automatic camera upload tool, which is still in beta for Windows PC and Mac platforms, so long as users connect cameras, smartphones, tablets or SD cards to Windows PCs and Mac machines, This feature automatically uploads pictures to the "Camera uploads" folder in the Dropbox account. In fact, this feature has been used in Dropbox Android applications.
Once the photo is uploaded, Dropbox will provide a new online photo page, where the user can see a larger thumbnail, hover the mouse over it to see the upload date, or click to view the full resolution picture. As part of the previously introduced feature, users can share photos through links just as they would for other files in Dropbox.
Of all cloud storage services, Dropbox provides a minimum of 2GB of free storage space. The expansion to 5GB will allow Dropbox to match rival Google Drive, Box.net and SugarSync services in free storage space. Microsoft has reduced the SkyDrive free storage space limit from 25GB to 7GB (still scalable back to 25GB).
