Consumer online shopping this year has increased significantly over the same period last year

Aypal and ebay Enterprise Services reported Saturday consumer shopping data for the holiday season as of Friday. The figures show that consumer online shopping this year has risen significantly compared with the same period last year, but less than 2012.

PayPal said that the total amount of shopping that global users moved through PayPal increased by 91% compared with Thanksgiving in 2012. ebay's corporate services reported a year-on-year increase in the number of users and orders by nearly 130% and 127% respectively.

Last year, PayPal reported a year-on-year growth rate of 173%, while ebay's business services (previously GSI) grew 170%. PayPal's growth rate has slowed markedly this year, but it still says mobile Third-party certification services are up 114.7% from a year earlier.

PayPal also said that during the Thanksgiving Day, American consumers usually carry mobile phones when shopping in the store, and the busiest stage is after Thanksgiving dinner.

The ebay business service says free shipping seems to be an important promotional tool for ebay's customers in the 2013 Thanksgiving. 72% orders for free shipping orders, up 48% year-on-year. Ebay Enterprise Services is a leading retailer and brand management business, with customers including Toys R R, Levi ' s, QSL authority, Polo Ralph Lauren and GNC. The business was previously named GSI Commerce. Ebay bought the company two years ago and switched to the current brand.

ebay itself has not published this year's Thanksgiving sales data, and only PayPal and ebay Enterprise Services provide data.
