HBase (Hadoop database) is a distributed, column-oriented open source database, an Open-source implementation of Google BigTable, and a subproject of the Apache Hadoop project. Unlike a generic relational database, HBase is suitable for unstructured data storage, and HBase adopts a column based rather than a row based pattern.
