Microsoft Business Manager and virtual technology expert Richard Lemberg (Charles Drengberg) said Office 365 users would be notified of upgrades 14 days ahead of Microsoft's plan to upgrade Office 365. Some users have been told that they will be able to upgrade in January.

Lemberg also said U.S. users will be the first to upgrade, and then gradually in the next few months to Europe, the United Kingdom, Africa and other regions to provide upgrading services, followed by Japan, South Korea, the Pacific region users.

The upgrade will be completed by early November 2013, de Lemberg said. Even if some users choose to postpone the upgrade, they must also upgrade before that time.

Users of the Standalone Exchange online version will be eligible for upgrade first, followed by an enterprise version of the user. For those users who also have both online and local exchange installed, they must install the Exchange SP3 packet to use the Exchange Management Console, which is also the local version of Exchange Server One of the new additions in 2013.

In addition, the first version of Office software requires users to use Windows 7 or 8 systems. Prior to April 2013, users who wanted to deploy the latest Office components on both the PC and Mac platforms had to install version 2011 or later of Office software on their Mac computers.

Microsoft's free Office Web apps will also be upgraded to the latest version. The Lync Web app will be upgraded to the HD edition and add a "Brady Bunch"-style group video conferencing feature so that people who attend the meeting will see all the other attendees immediately.

Lemberg also said Office 365 will provide office 2010 download service until April 8, 2014.

According to industry rumors, the latest Office software release date is January 29, it is said that Microsoft will release some other products that day. But Microsoft officials did not comment.

Microsoft last year unveiled the names of the various versions of Office 365 that will be released, including small business, midsize enterprise, large enterprise, and so on, and it also publishes the corresponding prices for different versions.
