According to foreign media reports, recently, former SAP CEO Lio Apotec (Leo Apotheker) is preparing a private equity investment fund, and will be used for European software, communications and information technology enterprises investment. The private equity fund may start operating at a time of September or October this year. "Europe has very good technology, and sometimes people just don't know how to put it on the market or how to create a big enterprise," Apotec told the media. The goal of Apotec is to help these tech companies move to the world. He said he and two European service and communications industry companies are already in talks with some investors and companies in need of financing. Apotec is very interested in the development potential of a huge cloud computing market. Many companies, he says, have opted to build apps on cloud computing platforms as they move their investment targets. "Cloud computing platforms may be more secure than internal deployment systems (premise BAE) because developers can devote more effort to the software functionality itself to make it more secure." "The future software system platform will be divided into several types: a continuous unified deployment of the cloud computing public platform, the company's private cloud computing platform and the traditional internal deployment software platform." Cloud computing will bring huge opportunities for new entrants to the market, as has been the case with successful salesforce.com. Apotec further said. It is reported that Apotec officially assumed the post of vice chairman of the supervisory Committee of the Schneider Electric Company in France last April. Apotec, 56 years old, resigned as SAP chief executive in February this year after disgruntled customers and SAP employees. As for the future of SAP Business management software, Apotec expects that the business management software industry will take several years to recover to pre-crisis levels, and 2010 won't be much better than 2008.
