At present, data centers urgently need an integrated approach to reduce power consumption. This energy-saving approach also takes care of communications equipment, air-conditioning and other hardware. Because of the complex environment involved, the current data center available in energy-saving technology is not much, and often not comprehensive.
A spokesman for Fujitsu said the new technology could monitor and calculate the heat flow in the data center in real time, and the simulation was 1000 times times faster than the previous one.
Foxconn said the technology could simulate and model the data center's communications and information equipment, air-conditioning and other hardware to achieve accurate data center power consumption. The error of the data center power consumption calculated by Fuskanssen into this technology will be less than 5%, very accurate.
The purpose of this technique is to test the effectiveness of energy-saving methods in data centers. In the past, it was almost impossible to estimate the energy efficiency of a data center energy-saving technology or equipment, so it was only after the actual installation and deployment that the effect was known, resulting in a large amount of money and time wasted, and possibly even the opposite effect.
The advent of new technologies allows data center operators to accurately estimate their effectiveness before deploying new technologies and equipment in the field, thus blocking technology and equipment that are inherently inefficient or detrimental to the energy efficiency of the datacenter, The data center will be able to complete the green transformation with lower cost and quicker time.
It is reported that Fujitsu is about to actually test the effectiveness of the technology within its own data center. It is hoped that this technology can achieve its original intention and bring an effective power estimation method for the current data center industry.
