Global Intelligent Television and its related equipment has been more than 1 billion units

According to Strategy Analytics data, smart-TV-related devices, including smart TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles and networked Blu-ray players over 1 billion, could double nearly 2 billion by 2018, similar to Google's new platform, Android TV will be a big boost.

The new platform will focus more on content, and both app and game acceptance are more humane. The advantage of Android TV at this point is the simplicity of its interactive interface, but at the same time it is as easy to operate as cable TV.

Google's earlier Google TV response was flat, but Android TV is rethinking the strategy of networked media devices. Apple TV, however, is still in the market leadership position, with a share of around 35%. Google and Roku have a 10% per cent share, with Google Chromecast (reasonably priced) and the addition of set-top box brand OEMs supporting Android TV, such as Razer and Asus, as factors in Google's progress.
