Hewlett-Packard says the cloud ecosystem is emerging in the future as the cloud-computing explosion that has emerged since the launch of Google app and Amazon EC2 is coming to an end.

The future cloud market will not become a sea of clouds, but will eventually be fixed, the cloud market will eventually appear 10 to 20 global elite cloud service providers, they will provide interoperability and a certain quality of service benchmark products.

HP is expected to be one of these major cloud service providers.

Biri Singh, senior vice president and general manager of HP Cloud services, says business users of the next generation of global services want a hybrid cloud model that can be fully integrated with their backend systems. He says business users of these global services want to access the system through the cloud as complex as Business Analytics, as simple as application development parts.

Singh said the cloud market mechanism that HP plans to build is a bit different from Apple's App Store, when a developer puts a widget in the cloud, for example to help better develop Ruby applications, and he or she will be able to get paid from each API call.

"We think it's a little over 2009 years of virtual machines," Singh said. Developers will want to use the tools and services in the cloud, "they need a market." ”

Singh says users also need an open environment.

Although Hewlett-Packard is currently only signing open source OpenStack cloud standards, Singh believes that in the long run, the alliance with other clouds is very important.

Singh said: "We devote a lot of time and effort not just to try to aim at a technology stack, and to fully own the stack, we want to create a heterogeneous environment." ”

The market will come later, probably this year.

HP announced in Tuesday that it will launch a public cloud infrastructure, a service product, as part of its broader cloud product line next month. The market will become a place where everyone in the cloud ecosystem can "actually run and build their own services".

James Staten, analyst at the Forrester Institute, thinks service providers are the main users of HP's services, in part because of the shift in the outsourcing market.

Customers are beginning to discard the IT outsourcing contracts of three to five years, which have given them everything to outsource.

Staten says users are becoming more like, preferring to keep some applications within the enterprise and getting services through software, the service provider. "We see the status quo of selective outsourcing," he says. ”

The HP cloud will be different from Amazon's products, and analysts say Amazon relies on third-party support to provide everything from infrastructure support to services.

Staten says Amazon is only responsible for providing basic cloud services, and HP will have the ability to maintain an operating system or monitor network conditions for users.

Part of HP's view of the cloud's future is that it will move to an operating expense model that will require more services from users.

Singh expects this shift to take place in the next 10 years. (邹铮 Compilation)
