According to foreign media reports, the IDC Global Server Survey team reported that the second quarter of 2009, the global server market transactions will fall to 10.6 billion U.S. dollars, down by 29.6%. Mate Iste, a vice president of IDC Group's corporate platform, said that while analysts still predicted total server sales would fall 22.1% per cent year-on-year this year, the worst contraction in the server market was over, thankfully. After entering the third quarter, the market has shown clear signs of stabilization. In addition, IDC said, compared to the same period last year, the demand for midsize enterprise servers fell by 9.6%, while high-end companies fell by 35.2%, and global server demand decreased by 18.3%.
