According to foreign media reports, recently, think Bollen launched the Spirent Velocity Virtual Lab environment, used to help verify software definition Network (SDN)/Network functionality Virtualization (NFV) technology and deployment. At the same time, Spirent Velocity is shortlisted for the 2014-year interop Cloud Computing [note] category, which helps accelerate market access and reduces costs associated with traditional virtual and physical test consoles.

Spirent Velocity's cloud-based design seamlessly integrates Spirent Testcenter virtual and Spirent avalanche virtual test devices, using a variety of methods to test SDN/NFV performance, availability, Security and size (pass), which simplifies setting up and running test cases. The cloud-based framework allows test engineers to take advantage of existing investment and resource advantages by leveraging their chosen physical and virtual test offerings, including various other test devices or open source tools.
Spirent Communications also announced that it is working with wedge NX to demonstrate the new Spirent velocity Virtual Lab environment.
Presentation Highlights
This joint presentation, located in Spirent's 727 booth, shows how NFV vendors can easily set up and run tests to quickly bring high-performance virtual devices and applications to market. In this demo, Spirent Velocity will allow wedge NX to configure its NFV based security solution in the virtual test console, which can significantly reduce the capital costs associated with the physical test labs. Spirent Velocity will demonstrate how to quickly let users understand the performance and security of the cloud through test setup and execution through the encapsulation method in Spirent Testcenter virtual and spirent avalanche virtual. In addition, the demo will highlight spirent Velocity's ability to orchestrate Spirent Test Center in OpenStack.
