Lytro is a "light field camera", which is said to allow users to take photos and focus. American Science and Technology blog Business Insider Editor Alyson Shontell recently travelled to London. He carried a borrowed Lytro camera and recorded the experience of using the camera. The following is a report of his experience: last week I travelled to London when I carried a Lytro camera. Lytro is a "light field camera", which is said to allow users to take photos and focus. The technology was innovative, and even Mr. Jobs met with Lytro's founder before he died. Jobs had hoped to introduce the technology into the iphone. Currently, investors have invested 50 million of dollars in Lytro. For a photographer like me, Lytro sounds great. You don't need a lot of skill to make a good picture, because you can adjust the focus after the photo is taken. When you take a picture of a lytro, it's like a picture of life. The focus of the photo can be shifted from one object to another, and the user can also arbitrarily adjust the depth of the scene and the background blur. With such adjustments, the information conveyed by the photos will vary greatly. Lytro itself is a slim and slender product, the appearance is like a kaleidoscope. The red version has the highest price. This version has 16GB of storage capacity and can store 750 photos at a price of $499. The 399 dollar version can store 350 photos, including electronic blue, graphite black, energetic powder and glass blue. Carrying Lytro and wearing Google glasses have a similar point: you will immediately become the focus. I borrowed a 16GB red Lytro camera. When I come up with this camera, a lot of people will pay attention to me. As I walked into London's Heathrow Airport, the guy behind me asked me, "How long have you been using Lytro?" He worked in Houston, where he learned about the camera in a tech blog. Others will point or stop and wait, and some of them want to try the camera for themselves. Currently, the camera is sold through the Lytro website, Amazon, Best Buy and target, but it is not available in London. I was walking around east London with my Lytro camera and headed to some of the main attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and London Bridge. Compared to big, heavy digital SLR, the Lytro is more portable and the retail price is similar. It's also easy to take pictures with Lytro. The Lytro camera has two buttons: A switch button is next to the bottom USB port and a shutter key at the top. The top also has an operating area that is not smooth. Sliding from left to right will pull the picture closer, sliding from right to left will draw far. The Lytro photo business director, who lent us the camera, admits that Lytro's screen can be better. On this screen, it's hard to see the photos just taken, because the screen size is too small, the resolution is too low, and the brightness is not enough in the sun. ButThis is a touch screen that allows users to zoom or delete photos by clicking on them, browsing through the previous photos and labeling the photos they wish to collect. Users can also adjust the default settings to support vision and macro shooting. Upload and edit photos once you have uploaded all the photos, you can then edit them, such as applying filters. Photo processing will take a very long time. Over 150 photos uploaded to my online album, the Lytro desktop application has crashed a number of times. When a photo is uploaded to an online album, you can share it with a social media site. Some of these sites will retain the Lytro feature of the photo. For example, Facebook supports such a feature. You can also embed Lytro photos into the Web page in a nested frame, allowing others to manipulate the photos. Most of the Lytro photos I took were ultimately disappointing. Before I went to London, I was advised to practice how to use Lytro to take pictures, so it was my own reason not to master Lytro's skills. But less than 5 of the more than 150 photos I've taken show the Lytro technology. I prefer a digital SLR, which is at least as clear as it is, rather than as blurry as a lytro photo or a lack of depth. After uploading to an online album and applying a filter, Lytro photos will be better. Therefore, you do not need to spend time on the desktop to edit the photos. In addition, it would be better to provide such functionality in the form of a mobile application. I like the technology that Steve Jobs appreciates, and the technology has a very good outlook, but the current Lytro camera is not worth the price. The camera still has some problems to solve, at least for my rookie. This article is compiled from Business Insider (Weifeng)
