When Linux compiles the kernel, it prompts the solution for "Too many open files" as follows:

This is because the File-max default value (8096) is too small. To resolve this issue, you can execute the following commands as root (or add them to the Init script under/etc/rcs.d/*):

# echo "65536" >/proc/sys/

Finally into the unpacked directory, run the installation command.

# CD Vmware-linux-tools
#/install.pl
