Microsoft is developing a slim keyboard with gesture control. By adding an infrared proximity sensor to the key cap and creating an inductive region that covers the entire keyboard area, coupled with an optimized machine learning algorithm, Microsoft Labs adds a Leap-Motion gesture-handling function to an apple-produced external keyboard.
The user can directly command the device by means of a pure gesture or a keyboard gesture, or even a direct gesture command directly above the keyboard. The device is still in the research and development phase. Whether it's mobile or desktop, Microsoft's new operating system is increasingly reliant on gesture interaction, a new hybrid operating mode that can be used by mobile devices and future Windows systems, and Microsoft has hinted at expanding the scope of the hardware.
