Netease Technology News July 11, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft is about to release a new search tool that has been developed for many years: Delve.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently disclosed in a memo that his new vision is to transform Microsoft into a "productivity and platform company," with Delve at the center of the plan.

This means that Microsoft will not pay attention to equipment, pay more attention to what people do with the equipment.

Nadella describes a world where your mobile, tablet, PC, and TV know you, know you, or even cater to your needs before you issue an order. He said in the memo: With these technologies, people will date and collaborate more easily and effectively; they will be able to use new ways of expressing their thoughts; they will experience the "ambient intelligence" of Delve and Cortana, ; They'll use natural language to ask questions and get insightful answers from Power Q & A; with Skypetranslator they will overcome the language barrier and change the world.

Cortana, launched by Microsoft for Apple Voice Assistant Siri, will be part of the latest Windows Phone operating system.

Skype translator is a real-time translation tool and is expected to be released by the end of this year with voice translation capabilities.

Power Q & A is an add-on cloud service for Office 365 users and a data analytics tool. The user enters a question that searches for company files stored on the collaboration software SharePoint and Excel and then gives the user an answer, perhaps a chart. (This natural language processing technique is commonly used in "business intelligence" software, the kind of software used to predict data such as quarterly sales)

But Delve may be the most interesting of these technologies. Delve, formerly known as Oslo, is a Microsoft version of Google Search, which Microsoft has worked hard for years. Instead of searching the web, Delve searches for user email, social networks, and corporate files stored on Office365.

Delve leverages "machine learning" technology and artificial intelligence to show you the files, messages, and people you do not know you need. Microsoft describes it as: Delve shows you the key information you are interested in based on your job and the activities of your friends on your social network.

It's like Google Now and Cortana, but for your working life.

Microsoft said that although the company has been demonstrating Delve since March of this year, the product will be officially released at next week's Microsoft 2014 Global Partner Conference. Meanwhile, Office 365 customers will be using the product later this year. (Liu Chun)
