According to foreign media reports, News Corp founder Rupert Murdoch (Rupert Murdoch) has never admitted that he has failed in one area, at least in public. Lately, however, he seems to have bowed his head and admitted to losing the race against Google News.
Several media reports say Rupert Murdoch's ambitious project Alesia plan (Project Alesia) died weeks before it was ready to launch. The project attempts to bundle the content of News Corp with that of other publishers, selling it as a package service.
The name of the project stems from a famous battle waged by Julius Caesar (Julius Caesar), which is very symbolic. It was reported that News Corp had invested about 30 million dollars in the project, with more than 100 people involved in the project. The project was led by the former managing director of Thelondonpaper Ienkrak (Ian Clark) and the digital business expert of News Corp John Oldo (Johnny Kaldor). It was also reported that News Corp was preparing to invest 1.5 million of dollars in other publications to advertise the project. News Corp was scheduled to launch the project in a few weeks.
The project aims to bring together News Corp's publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Times, The Sunday Times, the sun and News of the World, and distribute it through networks, mobile devices and ipads. In addition, News Corp intends to incorporate the content of other publishers and broadcasters. However, these partners seem reluctant to co-operate, which seems to be a factor in News Corp's decision to eventually cancel the project. Some partners are not prepared for technology and management, and some partners seem more willing to implement their own mobile and ipad strategies and are unwilling to follow Mr Murdoch's ideas, sources said.
Industry news website MediaWeek reports that some people are concerned that investment in the project will be out of control. It's not surprising that News Corp spent more than 30 million dollars a year on the project, which is a very small number, and the project hasn't been launched yet. It is expected that more than 80 staff members participating in the project will be reassigned to other posts in the News Corporation.
