Nokia may not be able to return to the handset market in a short time, but that does not mean the company will not be able to make a contribution in the mobile device sector. Nokia has announced that sales of the new tablet computer has reached 20,000 units after it started selling 4 minutes and 2 seconds N1.

Nokia began selling N1 in mainland China on January 8 through its local partners. The product is priced at RMB 1599 (about 257 USD). According to the information released by Nokia, the number of orders currently N1 is over 560,000 units.
Nokia last November released a N1 tablet computer with the lollipop operating system, the main market competitor for Apple's ipad Mini.
The 7.9-inch N1 tablet, equipped with a 2.3GHz Intel 64-bit Z3580 processor, has 2GB of running memory and 32GB of storage space. The device also comes with a 8 million-pixel rear-facing camera, a 5 million-pixel front camera, and a 2048x1536 resolution display.
N1 is currently the only mobile device in the market that supports TYPE-C USB interface. This means that the interface direction of the device no longer distinguishes between positive and negative, greatly facilitates user use.
N1 sales may have benefited from the media's consistent high praise for the device. According to the survey data provided by the GSMArena website, N1 performance is better than the ipad Mini 3, which is priced at RMB 2888. And the latter is only 16GB version, there is no 32GB version.
Buyers in the U.S. and European markets will have to wait a while to buy N1. So far, Nokia has only pledged to sell N1 in mainland China. While the device is expected to enter other markets, it remains to be known if Nokia will choose the right market to sell the device.
Unlike Nokia's handset business, which it sold to Microsoft last year, Nokia now relies on manufacturing N1 on behalf of its manufacturing industry. Nokia's own work is limited to design and software. Nokia now wants to license the technology and patents to other tablet makers.
So far, Nokia's Finnish headquarters did not comment on the report. N1 is not sold by Nokia. The manufacture, sale and support of this equipment are all owned by Foxconn, the world's largest foundry manufacturer. (Mingxuan)
