The integrated utilization of the perceptual data which embodies the real time operation of the physical world can fully excavate the value of the data and play a great help in solving some hot issues such as traffic jam, environmental pollution and road network layout.
A team of Li, Dinwilong and Zhaozhou, from the Cloud Computing Research Center at the Northern Polytechnical University, took advantage of Microsoft's Windows Server 2012 Technology advantage in infrastructure virtualization and a sophisticated package of solutions to build a platform for hosting and applications of perceived data to enable tenants to quickly and It is easy to develop and deploy applications, realize the purpose of integration, calculation and storage of traffic-aware data, and reduce the construction cost of perceptual data-related applications, and meet the needs of data/application hosting and operation and maintenance.
Breaking the information island of intelligent traffic

Taking the construction of urban travel vehicle control system based on license plate recognition as an example, it is possible to access only dozens of camera with license plate recognition function during the initial stage of the project verification. After the feasibility verification, the number of access cameras could be increased to 1000, which eventually connected to a large city with nearly million cameras. The camera's data, accompanied by vehicle photos, will converge to the system for analysis. Thousands of cameras, the system may accumulate more than 30 million per day, nearly 10TB vehicle identification data. As the volume of data increases dramatically, the infrastructure capabilities of storage and computing become bottlenecks in the construction of application systems. In the traditional system architecture scenario, some infrastructure utilization may not be high. This is because the current camera distributed on the road is usually used to serve different systems, different applications, the peak of the application load is not the same. Moreover, these different application may form the information island, cannot realize the basic traffic data Cross application, the cross department sharing.
If the infrastructure that serves different applications is able to integrate resources through virtualization technology, sharing, in the form of multi-tenant to support the intensive storage, shared management, and the unified deployment and hosting of the related applications in different business areas, can not only achieve the expansion of infrastructure, the optimal allocation of IT resources, It can reduce the operation cost of IT system, realize the sharing of basic perceptual data, reduce the cost of deep exploitation and utilization of the perceived data, and realize the transformation of data value to business value and social benefit.
