While domestic energy giants are accustomed to long-term agreements to secure stable and preferential gas resources, CNPC intends to import spot liquefied gases to ensure supply. Yesterday, the oil group learned that PetroChina Group intends to borrow CNOOC's Shanghai liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving station to import spot LNG to increase the supply of natural gas in China, easing the spread of "gas shortage" in many regions of China. PetroChina has not yet imported LNG, although it is planning to build a coastal LNG receiving station and engage overseas LNG resources, but PetroChina's LNG receiving station has not yet been built. In September this year, PetroChina and Exxon Mobil signed an agreement to spend 50 billion Australian dollars in the next 20 years to import liquefied natural gas from Australia, which is also the largest trade contract between China and Australia. PetroChina, CNOOC and Sinopec are accustomed to signing long-term contracts to import LNG, as this will not only ensure stable supply and relatively cheap prices, LNG prices on the spot market are higher than long-term agreements. However, PetroChina Group said yesterday that it would import LNG from its receiving station in Shanghai to ensure domestic supply. Relevant sources, the current gas source and price are in the negotiations. According to the introduction, is expected in this winter spring, China's gas peak, China's North China Daily Gas Gap will reach 8 million cubic meters, the South each day with gas gap of 5 million to 6 million cubic meters. It is understood that the station will import at least 700 million cubic meters of LNG, enough to fill 9 60,000-ton LNG carrier, which will be supplied to Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian and other parts of eastern and southern China. These imported LNG will not be in place at once, but are determined on the basis of market and price conditions. This import volume exceeded the total amount of LNG imports in China in October, and the import volume of LNG in China was 433946 tons in October. (Source: Jinghua Times Yan)
