PIT is a fast bytecode based on a Java mutation test system, allowing it to perform your unit tests more efficiently. Mutation testing is either an automated test or a deeper code overlay. Unlike traditional line and branch coverage tools, Pit is not just about confirming testing and executing code, but it can actually detect your failures on the test.

PIT 0.27 This version adds improved HTML reporting, adds support for code to avoid variant assertion statements, and fixes minor bugs.
