qssc-x5-2q server Beijing Time March 28 Morning News, Quanta Computer (hereinafter referred to as "quanta") recently began to ship its base based on the first multi-core processor server, it by multi-core processor Developers Tilera company responsible for manufacturing. The multi-core processor, known as QSSC-X5-2Q, is the successor to the SQ2 server previously displayed by quanta. Tilera previously announced plans for its own server roadmap, and by the second half of 2011, their server offerings will be upgraded from 64 core TilePro64 to 100 core tile-gx100, Further upgrades to the 200 core code-named Stratton processor by 2013. Quanta and Tilera have tried to 900MHz the TILEPRO64 server's main clock in their prototype products, but their ilePro64 server has dropped to 667MHz at a conference held last week in New York, which is consistent with the 667MHz DDR2 of memory it matches. The server board in the figure contains two sets of TILEPRO64 processors, each configured as a single system node (Systems node), with 8 memory slots per processor, a maximum of 32GB memory space, and 2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and 2 10,000 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. The two-piece system board is released together and consists of 8 server nodes, in a 2U rack, the 64 core 8 node servers can comprise a processor system with a total core of 512, each node containing 3 SATA 2 connectors, and 3 2.5-inch hard drives that can be installed, with a total of 24 hard drives in the rack. The Tilera chip supports the Linux 2.6.36 system kernel, which is considered to be based on the MIPS architecture of the US Tagout technology (Tilera has not been confirmed) and supports PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, Java programming languages and GNU GCC, gcc++ compilers. Quanta has not yet announced the market price for the server. (Xiao Ming)
